Project Description
People subjected to long streams of information, such as lectures, tend to lose data essential to their daily interactions. Recent developments in the field of wearable technology allow us to seamlessly capture this data in ways that would otherwise be limited with handheld devices such as cameras and cellphones. Therefore, we can think realistically about compiling and processing data without disrupting the continuity of ongoing activities. Taking advantage of Google Glass’s ability to capture ongoing events, we focus on exploring methods that actively index streams of vital information users can access on demand. “TakeTwo” develops upon the advantages wearable devices confer by providing a virtual extension of memory that aids users by capturing, replaying, and cataloging information based on its contextual relevance. By pairing Glass with Thalmic Lab’s MYO, we can also include a discrete mechanism for the user to bookmark or catalog specific moments they would like to review later on-demand. Think of this project as your personal TiVo for life!
